Hey there! My name is Whitney Kurian - I’m the lead planner and founder of Gem & Stone Events. I am based in Durham, NC, but also love to travel and explore this big beautiful world. Over the last few years, I stepped into more of my creative side, and fell in love with event planning and design as I had the honor to plan and host bridal showers, baby showers, and bachelorette trips for family and friends. I always said in another life I would be an event planner, but was told why does it have to be in another life? Why can it not be in this life? That really stuck with me. Through encouragement and confidence in what I am capable of, I finally took a leap of faith and decided to start my own event planning business! Best decision I ever made!! I’m dedicated to learning and growing with every wedding I plan, using my organizational skills and eye for design to ensure every detail aligns with your vision. From selecting the perfect vendors to managing timelines and creating stress-free experiences, I’ll work closely with you to ensure that your wedding day is everything you’ve dreamed of and more.

When I’m not busy wedding planning, you’ll find me at home with my two furry companions, Reese and Twix. They’re the sweetest pups and serve as my constant reminder to enjoy the little things (and sneak in a few extra treats along the way). Just like with my work, I love creating spaces that feel warm, welcoming, and filled with love—and yes they are always on hand for a little inspiration and some snuggles!
